The “Ferragosto” in Tarvisio is characterized by the colours, music and folklore of the Alpenfest. A traditional parade of local folk groups from the Valcanale and the neighbouring countries goes by through the main street of Tarvisio - this is the official opening of the local “Kirchtag”, animated by coloured market stands of handicraft articles, wine and gastronomic products. The whole atmosphere is surrounded by a joyful music background. Carriages pulled by strong draft horses accompany the kids along the main street Via Roma, closed for traffic on this occasion.
